Week Three....

This was a tough one for me and I'm pretty certain that I'm still missing something. After doing the homework and reading the material I still feel pretty confused about the whole subnetting processing. I'll send more time this week going through the material and making sure that I feel more comfortable with the process.

Just in the beginning stages of starting to do a little research for Research Project 1. I'm looking forward to learning more about wireless technologies over the next couple of weeks.

Week 2

I spend a good deal of time on the internet both at work and at home. I have always known that I needed to be careful about what information I put out on the internet, but have to admit that I wasn't nearly as "internet savvy" as I should be. Learning more about the protocols and more about how the system actually works has been enlightening.

The video that we watched for this weeks writing assignment bought home some good points about protecting our information from would-be identity thieves and those who might have less damaging but equally annoying motivations for stealing our information.

Week One....

Feeling just a little overwhelmed. I feel like I learned bits and pieces of things this week. Not nearly enough that I feel as though I have a good grasp on the material, but enough that I'm not as concerned that I might have bitten off more than I can chew as I was when I walked through the door last Thursday night. The overview of the OSI Model made it a little less intimidating than the few minutes that were spent on it in passing in one of my classes last quarter. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to dig in deeper and get a better understanding of the subject matter as the quarter progresses.
